Danny Koepke
Owner Operator

Owner operator Dan Koepke spends most of his time in mountains and climbing communities around the world.  He has climbed on 4 continents leading expeditions and ascents around Alaska, Europe, South America, & Asia as well as many places in between including classic alpine routes on the Grand Teton, Petit Grepon, and Mount Meeker with ski descents of Mount Rainier, Mount Shasta, and Mount Hood.

 

Dan has competed in international UIAA Ice Climbing European Cups, World Cups, and World Championships and national events like the Ouray Elite Mixed Climbing Competition.  Dan was selected for 2021 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cups representing Team USA in China & Switzerland (canceled due to COVID).  Dan competed in the 2022 UIAA Ice Climbing World Championships in Switzerland, and was the only American to compete in all 4 European Cups and 3 World Cups during the 2022-23 UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour.  He also earned 4th place in the 2022 Dutch Cup and 7th in the 2023 Swiss Cup.

 

Dan has summited the tallest mountains in both North & South America (Denali & Aconcagua) on solo permits, and he also enjoys leadership roles and authoring publications highlighting the significance of camaraderie and international teamwork - check them out!  He has been an American Alpine Club and Mountaineering Club of Alaska member for years, was Faculty at University of Alaska’s Departments of Biological Sciences in addition to Physics & Astronomy from 2016-2021, and is a professional member of the American Mountain Guiding Association.  Dan is an AMGA-certified Single Pitch Instructor and Apprentice Alpine Guide, and he works as a guide for Colorado Mountain School based out of Boulder and Estes Park, Colorado.

Established in 2017 in Anchorage, Alaska, Aim & Adventure has provided logistical support including rental equipment, transportation, training, food, coaching, and more to international mountaineers climbing the 7 summits as well as beginner climbers too.  Contact us to ask questions and learn how we can help you and your crew, to take your dream to the next level, and to take Your Aim & Adventure!
